
The following items considered as baggage are exempt from custom taxes
- Clothing and ornament items for traveler’s personal use;
- Personal hygiene items for traveler’s use;
- Medicines for traveler’s personal use;
- One (1) unit or one (1) set of sport items for traveler’s personal use;
- Books, magazines and paper documents for traveler’s personal use;
- Luggage, bags and other packages containing items that are part of the traveler’s baggage;
- Declared items in the Temporary Exit Declaration according to article 33° and which are accredited to be domestic or nationalized provided that they comprise a part of baggage and are presumed not to be destined to trade.
- One (1) hairdryer or handheld electric hairbrush for traveler’s personal use;
- One (1) shaver or electric razor for traveler’s personal use (only for travelers over 7 years of age);
- One (1) wind or stringed musical instrument provided that it is handheld.
- One (1) radio receiver, or one (1) audio player even with a recorder, or one (1) equipment containing all the above provided that it is handheld, non-professional and has its own energy source;
- A set of up to 20 phonographic discs, recording tapes, CDs, or cassettes;
- One (1) photographic or digital camera;
- One (1) non-professional video camera provided that it is handheld and has its own energy source (only for travelers over 7 years of age);
- One (1) handheld DVD player;
- One (1) handheld electronic videogame;
- Up to ten (10) film rolls, two (2) memory cards for digital cameras or videogames, only if you carry these devices with you; ten (10) videocassettes for portable video camera, ten (10) videocassettes for video recorder, and ten (10) digital discs for video or videogames;
- One (1) handheld digital diary or pocket PC (only for travelers over 7 years of age);
- One (1) handheld computer with its own energy source (only for travelers over 7 years of age);
- One (1) mobile phone (only for travelers over 7 years of age);
- Up to twenty (20) cigarettes packages or fifty (50) cigars or two-hundred and fifty (250) grams of chopped tobacco o tobacco strands (only for travelers over 18 years of age);
- Up to three (3) liters of liquor (only for travelers over 18 years of age);
- Auxiliary means and equipment necessary for medical control and mobilization (wheel chair; stretcher; crutches; blood pressure, temperature and glucose meter, and others) of disabled or ill travelers;
- One (1) live domestic animal as pet, which shall be comply with the corresponding sanitary regulations;
- Other items for travelers’ personal use or consumption and gifts which due to their quantity, nature or kind are presumed not to be destined to trade, amounting as a whole up to three-hundred American dollars (US$ 300);
- One (1) manual, electric or electronic typewriter and one (1) handheld electronic calculator.
